Hi ladies! My son is now 16 months old and at his last checkup at 15 months (my husband took him because I couldn’t get off work) they told him that our son is behind on his speech/learning words. They said he should be speaking 8-15 words at this point and he’s not. They really have worried us and they referred him to a hearing specialist as well as a early development learning program? I declined the early development program for now but we did schedule him a hearing appt just to check on his hearing again which is next week.

So I’m wondering how many words does your child say at this time or when they were his age?

He currently says mama, dada, baba, yay, uh oh, good, and he understands many words like no, his name, bye bye, etc.
