Back labor?

Question

Can someone please describe back labor? Is it a constant ache or does it come and go like normal contractions? What does it feel like? Where in the back is it located?  I'm a FTM and 36+6 weeks. I'm no stranger to back discomfort but this afternoon, the pain has definitely increased. I've taken a tylonal, had a warm bath, had my husband massage my back, and tried every position possible with little to no relief. It even hurts to breathe at times
 Is this back labor or just normal but increased pregnancy pain?

Back labor are contractions felt in the back instead of stomach or more so in the back.

The third time It was constant dull pain in my back. I lay awake in bed for 3-5hrs dozing through it, not knowing I was in labour. Finally got up to go to the washroom between 4-5am and couldn’t have a bm then realized that I had been in labour for hours. I paged my midwife and had my son within 2hrs. I’ve heard back labour is more painful but my experience is that it is intense but not overly painful. I’ve had 3 back labours. The first 2 were a bit hard to explain so I used my most clear and recent one to explain. I’ve also heard that sterile water injections can help with the pain but I’ve never had or needed them. I have precipitous labours so there usually isn’t time for much 😂😂

U still have a few weeks to go so I’m thinking the baby is pushed up against a nerve in your back. My back labor at the hospital was unbearable. I couldn’t even lay on the table/bed. I was more comfortable sitting up in a chair and it was all in my lower back like in my tailbone.

For me it never let up and worsened as I progressed through labor. By the time I was ready to push, my contractions were nothing in comparison to the pain in my back as they at least let up temporarily.

For me it came and went. It was in my lower back and when I felt the aching my stomach would also feel firm but not painful at all. My contractions didn't get painful till my water broke. Idk if what you are experiencing is labor or not. Maybe call your ob and ask what they think.

Probably just increased pregnancy pain unless you’re having contractions as well. My back labor didn’t start till I was 8 cm dilated and it was located on my back dimples which i think is where the sciatic nerve is but I’m not totally sure. The only way I could describe it, is like nerve pain but it was almost numbing because of it. It also felt like my back was heavy and my muscles were tense. It’s hard to describe so hopefully someone else can help out a little more lol
