Weird period

Ok so I am having the weirdest period I've ever experienced. Never had anything like this happen before. Well, first of all, it was 12 days late. I took several pregnancy tests during that time and all were negative. I ended up relating the lateness to some stress that I was under due to my husband and I both losing our jobs. Anyway, then on September 28 (12 days after I was supposed to start my period) I started having some very very light spotting. Like I could leave a pantyliner on all day and not have anything on it but just have a tiny bit of blood on the toilet paper when I wiped. It was like that for the 28-30. After that it got a bit heavier for a couple days. Then on October 6 it started getting lighter again and has been like that the past couple of days.
