Bleeding and Cramping in 1st Trimester

Jessica

This is my first pregnancy. We found out on August 13th that I was pregnant. Next day we got a blood test done to confirm the pregnancy. Hcg was around 8000. I called the ob a few days later due to cramping and regular bleeding. I got a blood test same day. Hcg jumped to around 16802. Progesterone was only 3.4 though. They ordered an ultrasound once we got the word on the progesterone being so low. I was in a lot of pain. I expected the worst. My cramping is in my ovaries like a period. During the ultrasound this past Thursday we saw the baby and sac. We were 7 weeks exact. Ultrasound tech stated everything looked normal. Heartbeat was 142. We were supposed to get repeat hcg and progesterone levels but after that ultrasound my dr stated we are not to do the blood test. She also would not prescribe progesterone cuz she stated it "doesnt work and is only given to women with multiple miscarriages".

My husband and I are very scared cuz even today I am still having bleeding and cramping. Both cramps and bleeding vary from light to moderate in flow and pain. I'm diabetic and have high bp. I am eating healthier and my sugars are typically around 150 2 hrs after a meal, at times less than that. Fasting they range from 100 to 120. Not perfect for pregnancy, but a drastic improvement from where I was.

Has anyone else been through regular daily cramps and bleeding in first trimester and baby was healthy? I'm scared especially of how low progesterone is at this point. I have a repeat ultrasound this wednesday as well as a nurse appt. Right after. My appt to finally see the damn ob is Sept 11. Any thoughts? Advice?
