Need advice

I’m 17 and live with a very conservative family. Recently I made the decision to have sex for the first time. We used protection and took any precautions we could since I am not on birth control. I have always had issues talking about anything health or sex related to my mother and am not sure how to tell her I would like to see a gynecologist without spilling the beans. I feel that since I’ve decided to become sexually active I should be responsible and make sure everything is running smoothly. Any advice on how to go about this situation?
