Need some encouragement

I am 34 and ttc for my first. This is our 6th month of trying and I'm getting discouraged. I never wanted kids, but one day it hit me, and now the desire is strong. That is why I waited so long. I feel like there is something wrong with me and that it will never happen. I've been using opks and have regular periods, although they are on the shorter side of 24 days. We have been having sex on the right days, but nothing. He has a child from another relationship, so I know he can have kids. I need some posotive vibes!
