Does getting induced hurt?

Question

I am currently 40 weeks and 3 days pregnant my due date is august 31st which is this saturday and my OB told me today i might need to be induced because i haven’t even started dilating so i was wondering if getting induced hurts?

For me it didn’t hurt at all. They say for some the contractions are worse. I’ve also heard they’re not worse, they’re just abrupt, as in, going natural you had time to get used to them as get used to their intensifying pain and pressure as the contractions slowly build, whereas with an induction they often start immediately and are close together and long right away. That’s how it was for me; the second the medicine hit my system my contractions started at 2 minutes apart and I dilated quickly. I did get an epidural when I was between 5-6cm though and then basically slept until it was time to push after that.  I will absolutely do the same thing again with this current child if given the chance; overall it was as good of a delivery as I could have hoped for, IMO.

I have been induced 3 times and it wasn't painful until the pitocin kicked in... I ended up with an epidural pretty quickly to relax so my labor would progress faster. None of my labors lasted longer than 5 hours start to finish.

My first was induced - doctors orders- and he was back to back! Contractions were horrendous I can’t lie to you...and I went with out an epidural! 😅
But I was in active labour for 6 hours which isn’t too bad for being induced! The insertion of the first drug I didn’t enjoy either as my cervix was no where near ready! 
Would I be induced again - yes 
Would I go with out a epidural- yes! 
Would I love to go into labour naturally this time - also a yes 😅 - good luck! It will be fine 🙂

YES! Compared to naturally giving birth. And I have gave birth being induced, naturally and naturally with epidural.

I’ve been induced twice and had one natural non induced birth. Natural labor was ALOT less painful than induced labor for me, natural labor also was a lot quicker. 
With that being said, i was just induced in July and gave birth to an 8lbs baby without any pain medication. Totally doable

I’ve only ever given birth once and had to be induced so can’t compare those contractions to non-induced natural ones but they were absolutely brutal. I was still able to have a no epidural natural birth though.

For me it personally hurt. The contractions were AWFUL.
