Am I spotting or no?

So yesterday I was using the bathroom and I went to wipe and there was a reddish brown color and I was confused cause I was on the 3rd week of my birthday control and I usually don’t start still the 4th week. So today I went to the bathroom and wipe and it’s like blood red. But it was a little bit. Am I spotting or my period is a week early?

Could be a breakthrough bleed coming.. 
My period is irregular and never can decide what it’s doing so I get spotting here and there, I sometimes bleed for 2 days, or sometimes 4 or 7
Sometimes spot in between, have a 5 day period
a day or 2 off and then get it for another 3 days 
Depended on what is normal for you I guess

Are you normally early? It could just be a week early. I normally get the same issue a few days before my period really starts, I call it my body’s reminder that the red tsunami is on its way x
