Too wet during sex?

Hello ladies so when I was having sex with my partner a few nights back I literally was so wet like to the point where it was not enjoyable for him and felt weird for me, like he was saying there was no connection, and I got that? But it never really happened before? Any ideas as to why this might be happening it was so weird or any of y’all ever experienced it before comments would be appreciated x
