Baby Jocelyn was due on 8-19 and decided to eventually come on 8-27 via an induction. We were scheduled for an induction on 8-26 where you have to wait for a phone call. We were suppose to get a call between 2-4pm, but never got a call. We live an hour away from the hospital so we just went in and I called once we were in the parking lot. They said they had a room, so we went to check in. By the time they did the paperwork we got into the room about 530. The induction didn't get started until 7pm with cervidil. I came in at 1cm dilated. Monday night was an awful sleep as I was contracting a bit and the bed was horrible. They took the cervidil out at 7am and checked me...still 1cm. They started the pitocin and my husband and I played games and walked the halls. It wasn't until my doctor broke my water that the contractions got intense. I lasted about an hour until I got the epidural. At that point I was 3 cm. It took me 8 hours to go from 3 to 5cm. The doctor got worried the pitocin wasn't doing its job to help my contractions. Then another 2 hours for 7cm. Then things went quick. My husband went to get food and I went 7 to 10 cm in 15 minutes. This was right at shift change so a new nurse came in to help me push. I had to push about 45 minutes until they called the doctor. Waiting for the doctor to get there to really push was so awful. They had to give me an episiotomy because her head was so big. Then her shoulders got stuck and a nurse jumped on top of me and pushed on my belly to get her out. She had the cord wrapped around her neck 3 times and came out not breathing. NICU was in there because she had a bowel movement and swallowed it. I didn't get to touch her until about an hour later. They had to intubate her and work on me a ton. My husband went to watch over her while.they worked. I had several blood clots after my placenta came out. Theys said they had never seen an umbilical cord so long. It was an amazing yet scary experience! I love her so much!

Breastfeeding is hard and she is losing some weight which they are watching closely.
