Sleeping Advice

Jillian

Hey guys,

Looking for some thoughts/advice.

My LO is 5 and a half months. She’s always been a good sleeper. I can put her down sleepy and she gets herself off to sleep. She takes 2-3 naps per day, ranging from 45 minutes - 2 hours.

Her bedtime is around 7.30pm-8.00pm. She’s gets a bath every second-third night. She suffers from very dry skin so we can’t bath her every night. We keep the routine the same though. Bath (if needed), massage with cream, pyjamas, bottle and bed. Again she goes down sleepy, but awake, and gets herself to sleep.

Our problem is, she doesn’t waken for food during the night anymore. She will go straight through to around 7am before she looks for milk. However, she does stir quite a lot during the night. Sometimes she resettles herself, sometimes I need to go give her a dummy. We’ve had a few nights where she’s settled herself every time, but most nights it can range from 2-6 times myself or my husband needs to go up and settle her.

I feel more tired now than I did when she was needing fed during the night! I’ve tried just leaving her, even when she starts to get upset, but I have a 2 and a half year old and if she gets too loud, either crying or shouting/talking to herself, it wakens him!

I’m at a loss at what to do. Any advice?
