Has anyone taken Femara later in their cycle to trick their body into thinking its day 3?

I went to the fertility doc on Friday (CD29) and my uterine lining shows that I wasn’t close to ovulating yet. She put me on Femara since I hadn’t ovulated in hopes that one of my 60+ follicles will become dominant and release an egg. I go back this coming Friday to see what my ovaries are looking like.

Has anyone done this? Seems odd to me but I know we’re only doing it this way for this cycle. Any other cycles I’d start on CD3.
