Do you drink caffeine?

I’ll be 15 weeks on Friday and I was just wondering if you guys drink caffeine? I’ve only had water and occasionally juice but I’m nervous to have soda. I know there’s not much research showing effects on baby but what are your thought?

Coffee every morning. People at work give me the sideways glances some days, but you can have up to 200mg safely per day. I am 27 weeks and baby is perfectly fine so far!

I need my morning coffee... my dr said Its safe to have a shot of expresso in the morning or any time during the day ... but jut once

I was wondering everyone’s opinion on this as well, I’m 13 weeks and only have an occasional couple sips of coffee and I’ve been dying! Everyone has scared me of drinking caffeine and I’m a first time mom so I don’t know any better. I asked my doctor and all he said was that there isn’t enough research to prove it dangerous or not and that it was my choice. But thank you for asking! I feel so much better now.

I have tea on occasion. I know it’s approved, but I decided I would severely limit intake of caffeine since it’s a stimulant and I have no idea what the impact could be on a developing brain long term. They’ve only looked at pregnancy outcomes like stillbirth and immediate postnatal outcomes like apgar scores and birth weight. Also, the half life of caffeine is way longer in pregnant women and really really long in babies (in utero and once born). There are some days when the work load is crazy and I haven’t slept and I need a little tea to get through, though!

I usually have a cup of black tea or coffee once a day. Most of the time I don’t even finish the coffee, but that’s mostly due to my toddler not letting me ever finish. 😉

I drink a cup of coffee every morning and often have a second cup in the afternoon. I often have a Diet Coke too. With my first child I rarely had more than one cup and possibly one soda a day, but I would not survive many days with a toddler without a bit more caffeine. I probably average 250 mg a day, which my doctor is absolutely fine with.

I drink 1-2 cups of tea a day ( I’m pretty sure there is around 40-50mgs caffeine per cup). You can have up to 200mg a day,
