want to get on birth control

I’m 17 and have been dating my boyfriend for almost two years. we used condoms at the beginning but have been using no protection for probably a year and a half, just the pull out method. we really want to be safer about sex but condoms give me problems and im scared to tell my mom that I want to get on birth control because I don’t want her to limit me seeing my boyfriend. Any advice??
