Loss of family member to suicide

My step father (my little sister’s dad) killed himself today. He has suffered depression for a long, long time and always refused help.

We are all devastated. He married my mom when I was three years old, and I couldn’t ask for a better step dad.

I need to know how best to be there for my little sister. We are all hurting like crazy, but it is her dad and she has anxiety herself. We are extremely close, and I have never dealt with a situation like this before.

If anyone has lost a parent to suicide, please share what would’ve helped you through this time.
