Does anyone feel a membrane sweep was successful?

Please share your experiences. Gonna ask for one today! 
I know nothing is a guarantee but don't want to do something that's completely pointless. TIA

Everyone is different. I had 5 in total and I still went 9 days over and had to be induced but it worked for my cousin after she had it done once

I had one with baby 3 when I was 8 days over I was already 3cm then done it and I was back in the hospital a few hours later in established labour.

I got this done with my first, I was 39 weeks and I went into labor about 5 days later!

I've heard it's basically a 50/50 chance it works.

I had one with my first just past 41 weeks and contractions started about 12 hrs later. I personally wouldn’t ask for one before due date though. They tend to work better when your body is ready. Some women get several done and they don’t work. Your cervix also has to be favorable for them to do one. I’m 40+6 today and will be asking my midwife for one if my cervix allows it.
