How soon can you take a pregnancy test?

I am 5 days late for my period and took a test but it was negative. Is this accurate? I took a clear blue test which is apparently the most accurate especially for early diagnosis but is 5 days after missed period too early???

Take a pink dye one, those worked best for me, clear blue wouldn’t say anything for several days. My pink dye test worked the day of my missed period and the solecind one worked 3 weeks after conception, a full week before my period was due.
