Would you tell someone who’s pregnant there gonna be a great mother just to say it ?

People keep telling me I’m gonna be a great mother ... but I can’t help but think people are saying that just to say it . Although I genuinely will try to be the best I can be , do people say this just to say it ?

I say it to expecting mothers if I genuinely think they will be a great mother. People who aren't great parents don't tend to worry about if they will be or not.

I would believe they are being genuine. Especially if multiple people are saying it. There are so many other things a person can say when they find out you’re pregnant but they chose to say that specifically 🙂

I would not say that to someone I didn’t think would be a good mom personally. There are so many other things you can say to a pregnant woman... honestly I would only say that to someone I think would make a fantastic mom. However I know what you’re saying... people told/tell me I’m a great mom and all I can think about are all of my shortcomings, all the times I lose my temper or allow screen time so I can some peace and quiet.... but I think caring, loving, and constantly trying is what really makes a good mom.

If the people saying this know you well, then it's a genuine thing to say but if its random people or people you hardly know they're probably saying cause they dont know what else to say. I've never told anyone they're gonna be a great mother unless I truly felt that way other than that I'd say "how exciting, congratulations"
