I have just seen this and completely agree with the mother of this child. What about you?

Agree!!! Boys and girls alike need to be taught that we show respect and compassion to everyone- whether we like them or not. I would never let a child grow up believing it's okay for someone to be mean to you because deep down they just like you. Abuse is not how you show you care about someone and if someone hurts you they do not care about you in a way that you should want to be cared about.

Heads up she did complain to the man. It's not just her on Facebook she did actually say something.

That aside, it's not uncommon that children are told "if they pick on you they like you", and you can see it in any school at some level. 
You tell a girl "if boys pick on you they like you" and she thinks that being hurt is okay. She lets them pick on her, they learn that that's okay behavior, and it sticks with them. They apply it throughout middle school, highschool, and even into adulthood. Where it then turns into more than just pestering someone. It becomes manipulative and abusive.
