Daycare advice?

So I’m switching night jobs to day jobs and I’m looking to enroll my kindergartener in daycare when there in school breaks or on vacations do they do that do they charge a fee to hold a spot how does that usually work? I’m new to all of this

The daycare my son is in hosts a summer 'camp' and allows you to bring your kindergarteners in for school holidays and days off. But not all daycares do that sort of thing. He is attending 2 days a week and most don't even do that. So it's hard to find but they do exist.

A lot of daycare last have school age programs for after school and vacations. Every day care would handle it different but I know some you only pay when you go you just have to tell ahead of time.

At the daycare I use to work out they wouldn't hold any spots. The kids who were full time got priority, and you had to tell them in advance if your kid was going to attend over a certain break or you would have to call in the mornings to see if they had any openings. Not sure how they charged for part time care like that. You would just have to call around to your centers and see how they run.
