I lied about lying

So today I took the IELTS exam, which is a language test that lots of universities use and it is also necessary for immigration. One of the parts is speaking, which I am not great at. I am kind of introverted, so even though my English is good, I often get stuck just out of plain nervousness. Anyway, the topic I was given at the exam today was on truth and lying. The examiner asked me - tell me about the time you lied to a friend. This is a tricky judgy subject on its own and as I couldn’t come up with anything on the spot, I decided to invent a story, just so we get past the question. I told him how I once thought my friend looked bad in a dress, as she has always had weight issues, but I didn’t want to ruin her day and instead said I liked how the dress looked on her. While speaking I was mad at myself but now was too deep into the story so had to wrap it up somehow and while talking I could tell the examiner was judging me as a person. Well, I was judging myself too. So now I am hoping my grade won’t be affected by this. I know they care about the language structures and grammar, not the ideas, but in case they do, I screwed up. 😩
