How much screen time does your baby have?

Question

Hubby and I know that any screen time is discouraged for babies younger than 18 months but It’s getting harder and harder for us to hide screens from our baby, who is fascinated by a flashy light show - anyone else finding the same thing?
Are you letting your child watch screens anyway?

I think it’s very impractical to expect your baby to never catch a screen for 18 months, unless you literally never have the tv on. 
That suggestion is meant for putting your baby in front of a screen intentionally to watch. 
I’m the type where I generally just want some background noise. My daughter occasionally will turn her head towards the tv but never for more than a minute. Those tiny moments won’t hurt her.

I let my son watch Baby Einstein! He is a very fussy baby, who hates naps unless I’m holding him. So only way I can shower or eat is if he is distracted by the tv .. for a max of like 20-30 minutes then he wants attention again! 
I think it’s okay in moderation. 
There are sensory videos meant for babies, and for my own sanity.. why not 😅

If the tv is on he might look at it while he’s in the lounge but I never intentionally put something on and place him in front. Way too young to watch tv.

Girl, my 3mo watches tv. Only because he gets bored and he only cries when he’s bored. So I put cartoons on for a little while while I clean, do dishes, or just sit down in peace for a cup of coffee. TV time usually doesn’t exceed 30 mins. When you’re raising a child alone TV can be a saving grace for your mental wellbeing

I’ve already caved and put a sensory video on. She gets bored so quickly I figure giving her colors and shapes to look at for ten mins can’t be the worst thing ever!

I have 2 boys and they’re currently watching ‘teen titans go’ baby’s watching too 😬 she’s in her bouncer and I’m letting her because I need to pump so it’s easier to just let her. When I’ve finished I’ll take her in the other room and put her on her play gym.

I let my toddler watch videos while I cook dinner. So baby is exposed to it then too. I don’t intentionally sit him in front of the tv though.

Mine will stare at the tv if it’s on so I try not to keep it going. We also FaceTime with family 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Not intentionally, but we all hang out on the couch at night and she will watch or follow the lights, here and there 🤷🏽‍♀️

Like others said, we don’t intentionally put him in front of it but it’s on a lot while he’s around so he’ll look that way when it’s there.
