hand sucking

urgh, my wee boy sucks his hands incessantly and it’s nearly driving me nuts! 😖 it’s not just when he’s hungry though, straight after he’s had a feed and is totally full, he’s straight in there with his whole fist.

it gets to the point where he gets himself all worked up because he’s sucking so, um, enthusiastically!, which is especially annoying when i’m trying to get him to sleep.

i’m really scared to give him a dummy because i’m combi feeding due to low milk supply and him not always being the best at breastfeeding (i feed him from me first, then he gets a bottle as i just don’t make enough milk. believe me, i’ve tried everything to increase it 😔). i’m worried if i give him a dummy it’ll completely derail our already shaky breastfeeding routine.

anyone experienced anything similar? do you think a dummy is my best option? 😔
