Uh shouldnt we be engaged by now

So my boyfriend bought a ring which i secretly saw like 8 months ago. On my birthday he told me he wanted to propose to me that day. But apparently his first week at work he showed it to some of the guys and a few days later it was stolen from his locker. So he couldnt propose. I told him idc about the ring but he still hasnt proposed. And a few weeks after he told me that i found another ring. Which he left in jewelry cleaning solution in a container in our bathroom. Months later its still there. Is this ever guna happen?
