BFN, late period, positive LH surge??

My period is 6 days late, I saw a dr today where they did a urine pregnancy test and it came back negative!!!! I am sooooo beyond bummed. I had the nexplanon removed 5 months ago and we have been trying since! I am also never ever late on my period and I had a normal, consistent period right after having it removed. I came home to take a ovulation test just because and if it’s not positive, it damn nearly almost is 😩 I’m so confused what’s going on!

My dr said my hormones should be back to normal by now and that if I was pregnant then the test wouldn’t have came back negative. So frustrating! 😭 has anyone has a similar experience and what was your outcome???
