guy friend

so i liked this guy in my 7th grade year and after i got rejected i went into this really dark place and ended up doing this and i’m sm better after i stayed talking to someone thanks to my friends😭, but we’ve been talking a lot this year and even went skating together. i woke up with different feelings for him but i don’t wanna go back to this dark place again. any advice? (also i’m in 8th now and so is he)
