Depends what you are wanting. 
1) medela has amazing customer service and support for a nursing mother. Anything happens to your pump they replace it. 
The pump itself gets the job done. Takes a bit longer but it works. 
2) spectra customer service sucks hardcore. Something breaks on their pump they find every excuse under the sun to not have to replace it. So pray it doesn’t break. I have had their power cord break twice in the few months I used it. They aren’t expensive but it’s gets annoying spending $30 usd every few months for something that shouldn’t be breaking. 
The pump itself pumps great and is faster than medela.

The Medela is not a closed system and can grow mold. If you google it, it’s pretty nasty. 
The spectra is super efficient, gentle and customizable. It’s also a closed system so it won’t get moldy. I love my spectras.

I have the medela so I've never used the Spectra, but I like mine but just fine!

I have a spectra for personal use and work provides medela pumps in all the mother's rooms. Spectra is just so much easier and more comfortable. It's easier to clean, it's tubing doesn't get damp, there are fewer pieces. I feel like I get more milk per session with it as well.

I had both. I definitely preferred the Spectra S2. It was much more efficient, user friendly, easier to clean and more comfortable to use over all. As an added bonus, it’s a closed system pump as well, which means you never have to worry about any milk or bacteria getting into the pump...another plus is you’re able to give it away if someone needs a pump once you’re done with it!
