boy advice??

so i just started a new school. there’s this really really really hot guy, but he doesn’t have any classes with me. he’s in my friend’s class, which is how i know about him. there has only been a week of school, so i don’t know anything about him. he doesn’t know i exist. he sits with a huge group of people who are pretty popular at lunch. how can i talk to him? i have no excuse like homework or class or something, i don’t know what he’s interested in, he sits with the popular kids and i sit with 1 friend, i’m shy, is there anything i can do?
