Why are men even getting married

Question

I get on here every day and read hundreds of post of girls complaining their SO will not marry them
But from my point of view between the divorce rates being over 60% the impending doom of losing half your belongings not to mention long-term alimony I'm personally shocked any men are getting married nowadays as I cannot think of any significant emotional or financial reason guys would even want to get married in this legal climate
I guess mostly I'm just looking for a good reason I should even bother trying to convince my long-term SO to marry me

You shouldn't ever convince someone to marry you. That's the problem. It should be a mutual desire and agreement based solely off of your love and commitment to one another, any other reason will just lead you right into that statistic, divorced. If you've talked about marriage and they're not interested in marriage then either make the decision to stay together or be with someone with your same views. The word convince should never be used here.

Because marriage is sacred to some people and means more than money or posessions. If someone is worried abour inequities of wealth then a prenup will solve that issue and you can still get married without worrying you will lose half your stuff. My advice to people is live together for a few years unmarried - if everyone did this then I think the divorce rate would be lower because fewer people would accidentally marry someone they didnr enjoy living with.

Well if you're convincing him then you shouldn't be marrying him🤷. And I'm not sure where you got your statistic, but the most recently recorded divorce rate is actually about 41%

There are benefits to being married, but NOT MANY get to enjoy those pleasures, unfortunately. It all depends how much each is willing to do for the other without expectation, and how far and deep they're willing to take their commitment.
5 years, still rocking it after 2.5 kids later! 😁 
Faith & Trust is how its worked for us... Of course, we have our minor bickering every now and then, but we've created a family, and have committed to each other for 10years even before marriage. The course of the marriage may change like any season that comes and goes, but we're pretty rooted to what we hold on to keep persevering strong 😍

You don’t convince someone, they should want to marry you. My friends that are part of the divorce statistic were not shocking their relationships fell apart. They ended up giving their SO ultimatums, which was a red flag right then along with many other red flags that they didn’t see being caught up in what they thought was love. 
There are a few legal benefits such as if should one of you be in an accident, you have to be married to be privy to information/decision making. Unless you think to have a healthy care proxy form signed and ready, however, not many think of this. 
For some, marriage isn’t about legalities or financials. It’s about knowing someone loves you and commits to you for life. You don’t go into marriage thinking it will fail. I am happily Mrs. ___ and our kids will share our name (I know the last name debate, that’s different to everyone too. This is what I wanted).

Women who pressure men end up not being happy. If he wants to marry you he will. No one wants to be forced but then you have women who almost force them to propose. Never works out. Then you have men who propose because “it’s the next step” that usually doesn’t work out.
