The bridesmaid pt.7
Tony watched Summer from a distance & was staring at her in unbelief. He couldn’t believe he was falling in love with a married woman & a a married woman with a child. He never imagined this would ever happen to him. He felt ashamed, confused & hurt. He knew it was wrong, but everything felt so right. He wanted to leave the reception & forget that any of this ever happened. He figured he go back to Texas the next day & go back to his quiet life alone.
Summer was head over heels in love with Tony. He was gentleman enough & had that cowboy ruggedness to him. Her thoughts went back to everything that had just happened in the hotel room. She felt loved by Tony. She felt wanted by Tony. She felt needed by Tony. Summer realized that she hadn’t felt that way in the longest time.
Tony left the groomsmen at the bar & decided he’d go take a walk. He needed to clear his mind. As he made his way past the guests, past the coordinators, & past the dj, he was almost out the door when he felt a tug at his arm. He turned to find his dad.
Tony: Dad.
Dad: Where do you think you’re going?
Tony: I just needed a moment to clear my head.
Dad: Well, your mother’s gonna be lookin’ for you. Can’t you stay a while?
Tony: I guess I can stay til dinner. But after that I’ll need to head on out.
Dad: Thanks, son. Come on, this is your brother’s day. Let’s celebrate with him.
Tony: you’re right.
At this point, summer confided in her best friend, one of the other bridesmaids that she just had a fling with Tony.
Lauren: You did what?!
Summer nods.
Lauren: You guys are perfect together. I keep telling you to leave.. what’s his name.
Summer: It’s complicated, Lauren. He’s my daughter’s father.
Lauren: You can’t stay with him just for your daughter. Do you even love him?
Summer: I did.
Lauren: What about now? Do you love him now?
Summer: I don’t know. All I know is I’ve never felt so loved in my life before. The way Tony looks at me, talks to me & touches me...I can’t get him out of my mind.
Lauren: Sounds like you have a lot of thinking to do...
After dinner was served & most of the guests finished eating, the DJ started playing slow dance music & asking all of those in love to head towards the dance floor with the partner of their choice. Summer glanced Tony’s way. Tony looked at the corner of his eye, but tried to keep his glances away from summer. He still wasn’t sure what to think of this whole situation. His mind was telling him,”no”, but his heart was yelling,”yes!”.
