Owlet Worth it?

Question

Mamas I need some advice! Is the owlet sock worth it? Baby will be sleeping in our room in a bassinet for the first 6months at least. Should we get it with the camera and install in his room in the meantime or should we just get the sock?

I honestly used the sock for about a month, it was a really good thing for me because I’m a paranoid mom and I really liked it! 
The sock did come off easily when my daughter would kick but I think it was just due to her small feet.. she was a premie. 
My husband wants to buy the camera😬

My sister tried the owlet and it burned the hell out of her little boys foot. When she took him to urgent care the doctor layed into his hatred of the owlet from the pediatrician standpoint (not at my sister but the company/product in general..he understood why a mother would want one). He said burns weren't a super common thing but he seen enough in the small city they were in to know it isn't an isolated instance and also said a lot of parents either over stress when they glitch or trust them too much and miss actual issues. After seeing the little man's burnt up tiny foot I never thought about one for mine. A few friends have them and reviews are mixed but to me the bad outweighted the good...2nd degree burns are never ok to me.

I’ve heard really mixed advice on this. My sister had one and the first couple months they liked it, but as soon as their daughter started moving more at night (around 2 months or so) they’d get false alarms all night long because the sock would get knocked lose on her foot.
Ultimately it gave them peace of mind until it kept them up all night 😅 I thought I’d be so stressed out that I would buy one too, but I wasn’t very worried with my son. He didn’t have any red flags that I’ve been warned to watch out for, nor any risk factors. I still (1.5 years later) check on him a few times at night before I go to bed to make sure he’s breathing - what mother doesn’t haha - but I didn’t feel an urgent need to get one.

Yes it’s awesome but I feel like it was a waste Because it was just something else I had to remind myself to put on the baby and charge it. So we like never used it, I think I used it when she had RSV at 4 months, so that was nice.

I think it’s worth it! Baby boy has been using it since birth and we recently stopped using it now that he is older (he’s 10 months now). We did have false alarms but that was because I would sometimes put it on incorrectly. Definitely gave us a piece of mind. We made sure to switch feet every night so that one foot wouldn’t get irritated. They come with different size socks to grow with baby too so it would be a perfect fit for your little one. Washing the sock regularly with babies laundry also helps of baby’s skin is sensitive. I also liked how the app tracked their sleep and lets you know if they woke up in the middle of the night and for how long (waking up not crying) and how many hours total they slept.

The sock is amazing! And to the woman talking about the burns, that's user error not due to the sock. Even after wearing it all night my babys foot isnt even warmer than the other one. 
It doesnt work well with sleep sacks only as baby can kick it off. So we use footed pajamas instead. 
We bought it with the camera and set up the camera for nap time so I can keep an eye on her, I'm hoping one day I can use it lol. The combo is such a good price with the camera I'd buy both. The camera shows up in the app with the readings and is really good quality. I highly recommend.
