Do you follow the same religion as your parents?

I almost told my parents that I didn’t believe in god but they’re so deep into religion. They can’t imagine someone not believing in it or not going to church. I ended up telling them that I just don’t like going to church because church is really judgy and all they do is talk bad about other people. A total cop out to get out of the subject. It’s like talking to a brick wall with how religious they are and for sure 2/4 of their children are not religious. I haven’t really asked my other two siblings but I know one of my brothers doesn’t believe in god either. My parents say, but we raised you this way and this is the right way, without god there’s nothing.

I always planned on never telling them and faking it to get married by the church and baptize my children so they wouldn’t say stuff like, “You’re condemning your children to hell.” 🙄 I don’t think religion is bad cause to each their own but they’re so against not being religious. They force it on me. It’s just not for me, I don’t believe in it and I don’t agree with it and I have to waste my time with it because I do it for them. And it leaves a bad impression on you when people are just so pushy and shame you with their religion. Most of my family is pretty religious so you just get forced from all sides.
