Question

Steph

I had my first outbreak June 2018. From that time till February 2019, I’ve consistently had outbreaks monthly. After February 2019 no outbreaks, it was a beautiful period.

Since I broke up with my ex and want to find a sexual partner, who of course I will going tell. I decided to take the antivirals which I was told daily intake will decrease chances of transmitting as well as using protection. On the third day after beginning the antivirals, I get symptoms of an outbreak and a day later here come the sores.

Do you think it was an coincidence? I’m now doubtful of the antivirals. I haven’t taken them since Feb 2019 and as soon as I begin again I have an outbreak.

Antivirals do not stop you from getting outbreaks.it shortens the time of your outbream, lessons the symptoms and reduces the number of outbreaks. If you were on the generic of valtrex, many people complain they still get frequent outbreaks on it.Acyclovir is better

Thanks for the information. I’m going to let my body do it’s own thing.

That does happen for some people, and mainly if you're taking valtrex. When taking antivirals your body doesnt fight the virus naturally
