California Laws for calling in sick
So I've been working at my job since last November. Luckily I've been good health. Just recently I needed to make an emergency Dr appointment this Thursday to see something about my heart. My initial plan is to get my shift covered but my boss isn't helping with getting me numbers from other locations to find coverage. At this point I might just call out.
Problem is that my coworker just told me my job is a no call out job. I told her that's illegal, if there's atleast 2 hours ahead of time I should be able to call out. Is there a law preventing my job from letting me call out? I find this horrid. My coworker is pregnant and she tried to call out due to morning sickness and my new manager (she JUST transfer in maybe 2/3 weeks ago) told her tough love , come to work. I just think this is against a policy. How can a job do this.
