Always count to 10 before responding. It will calm you down and make sure to spend a part of each day, maybe in the middle of the day, going to your private room or walking outside alone.  Give yourself that time each day to reenergise and calm down .

I would book a hotel near by and just show up for dinner or any special event they are doing. If it gets out of hand I would leave and go to hotel. In order for that to work your spouse has to agree. If not, I would just not go and spend time with friends and family rather than holiday hell.

My excuse this year is my soon to come first baby, so we don't have to be there all the time 😀😀
