Thoughts on road trip with a 6 week old?

Considering driving from the easy coast to Chicago when baby is 6 weeks old. It’s about a 12.5 hour drive that we would split into two 6ish hour days. Thoughts?

We're making a trip from Ohio to WI then ND when our little girl is about 8 weeks. We're planning on driving overnight the first leg about 9 hours with stops every three hours. Then during the day for the next leg about 7 hours again stopping every 2-3 hours.

I don’t know if it’s different in the UK as no where takes longer than a few hours 😂 but they say you shouldn’t have them in a car seat for longer than 30 mins at that age as they are at risk of suffocation due to weak neck muscles, but 2 hours is the absolute max if you have to travel. I wouldn’t risk it tbh.

We are doing Jersey to Michigan when little one is about 8 weeks old. It should be fine, just frequent stops and I don’t plan on bringing him inside any rest stops. We can tend to all his needs in the vehicle and take turns using the restroom.

It should be fine as long as you stop ever cpl hrs to feed and get baby out to stretch. It’s not safe for baby to be in a car seat for too long.
