When should the first appt be?

I called to make a Dr appt and they booked me in for November 4th and said that they dont see mothers until 10-12 weeks... is this normal? I see many posts about confirmed blood tests and 6 week ultrasounds? I live in Canada if that makes a difference?

I’m not scheduled until mid October I think it’s fairly normal :)

At my doc they want you to come in to confirm pregnancy with a pee test between 6-8 weeks and then they schedule your first ultrasound 10-12weeks and 2nd doc appointment!

I’ve had past losses, so I now get repeating bloodwork from positive HPT 4-5 times to ensure levels are doubling appropriately and US around 6 weeks just given my past. But this is normal to not be seen until 8-10 weeks!

I’m at a fertility clinic and that is why I am getting bloodwork and an early ultrasound.  However, even if your ob won’t see you, I’m sure they can order bloodwork for you, just so you know where your levels stand.

I think it depends on the doctor. My doctor won’t see me until 9 weeks.

Mine isn’t until Nov 7th. We are getting a free private scan from a place kinda like Healthy Start in about two week. A lot of states have places like these but you have to find them.

I think many of the women who have early doctors appointments are those that sought medical advice or intervention to conceive.  My doctor isn't seeing me until 8 weeks and I am fine with it.

I’ve had a past missed miscarriage and miscarriages and my doc only sees people starting week 8. I think it just depends on your doctors preference.
