perm while pregnant?

anyone have experience with getting perms while pregnant? i’m 24 weeks and really want to get a perm as a bday present to myself. 
i’ve read mixed reviews, some saying it’s harmful to the fetus, some saying it’s okay if you do it after three months, some saying there’s no evidence of it harming a fetus. 
i just wanna know what everyone’s experience is!

You take a big risk of the perm either not taking or not turning out well due to your hormones being out of wack. Not sure on affects on the baby though.

I've had a perm before during my previous pregnancy but it didn't take and I was told it was from the hormones from the pregnancy.

I wouldn’t do any type of chemical treatments during pregnancy as most of those processes, (perms and brazilian blowouts), have a form of formaldehyde. I would also warn that your hair may or may not take it since the hormones can change your hair and it’s ability to hold chemical treatments or even coloring. Many if not most professionals would not consider performing such treatments on pregnant clients either. It isn’t worth the risk of inhaling those fumes, which do actually have an effect on the baby if strong enough of a chemical smell. Coloring is okay. But those chemical treatments are pretty strong and harsh.
