IUD VS OTHERS??

Question

So I'm going to be going to my doctor for my postpartum follow up in a couple weeks and was curious on some feedback for an iud? I stopped breastfeeding and even if I was I know it's not a fail safe for not getting pregnant again. It would be nice to not worry about taking a pill or getting a shot once a month etc. Input appreciated! TIA

I had 2 mirenas total of 7 years.. Didn't have a period at all and didn't have any problems from it.. Had it removed and conceived within 2 weeks or less.. I plan on getting another one.

Mirena was the was . I thought it was good but boy was I wrong. Had to many complications with it.

I had two mirenas for almost 7 years. Zero issues and no periods for the entire time.  Took it out, periods started right back up like clockwork and we started TTC about a year later, got pregnant the first month.

I have a friend right now who is 6 weeks pregnant with the mirena. She had to have it removed at 4 weeks and they told her she has a high risk of miscarrying from it.

Mirena caused me to have a ectopic pregnancy..it was great the first few months besides the horrible mood swings, they had diagnosed me with bipolar disorder but came to find out it was because of the hormones in the IUD..then they couldn't find the strings to get it out because it had implanted and had to have a procedure done to remove it. Horrible thing...lawsuits against it, I'd just do your research! :)

I actually had the mirena too and didn't have a single issue with it! I plan on going back on it after my second is born. Everyone will react to it differently (just like everything) so it's up to you to decide what you want and what you may be willing to deal with in the event you are one of the "unlucky ones"

I had the merina and It was a nightmare.  I bled like A heavy period For the first 2 1/2 months after I got it then nothing for a year and a half to two years which was awesome! Then I started bleeding like I've never bled before… I couldn't contain it with a pad or super tampon or anything.  I went to urgent care a couple times because blood would just start pouring down my legs I had multiple x-rays and ultrasounds because they were afraid it migrated or had gotten imbedded but it was perfectly in the right spot.   I begged the doctor to take it out but she insisted I keep it in because my mom had uterine cancer and she said it would help me not to get it.  They put me on multiple hormone prescriptions estrogen,  progesterone, they put me on antibiotics because they were afraid of infections.... When the bleeding did ease up and I was able to have sex again it was so painful! I finally switched doctors and they removed it and after a couple months of clotting and bleeding I was back to myself again.  I would never in a million years get one again....

I loved my IUD to a point. I had no periods about 6 months. I didn't have to remember anything, it was great.... However it did cause me to gain weight. And I was unhappy with that so I took it out... I have had two IUDs only complaint in the weight gain.
