Any idea how to fix this (make it white again)?

I bought these for my son they were used but suchhhh a steal! 
I washed them inside out and they still look grey not white. Any idea how I can fix it? I’m wondering if it’s just fuzzies stuck on it?

Try a lint roller or a shaver to see if it is just fuzzies. If it isn't, is a toothbrush and apply some laundry liquid and baking soda and rub it in with the brush then rinse. Usually that works
