I don’t think there’s a black and white answer here. 
What’s more important is what works for your family. And what works for your family may not be what works for the next. 
Of course I’d love to stay home with my son. But being a single mom, and I know you said you aren’t, it’s not logical. 
With that being said, I did decide not to take the next step in my career move because the position itself would require me to be at work from 8a-8p and that is obviously not fair to my son. So I chose to stay/ find a 9-5 job that pays well. 
There’s so many factors with this. Like could you afford childcare, if needed, could you afford to not go back to work, would you miss working, would working keep you more sane than staying home. 
What’s important is finding out which one is better in your life, I wouldn’t base this question on a poll “yes/no.”

That’s a very personal question, and it completely depends on your own circumstances. I work, but it’s because I have to. If I had the option, I’d be at home.

Neither is right or wrong. Every family Is different and what works for one won’t for another. 
Some women literally can not stay at home and there’s nothing wrong with that! Either for financial reasons or just emotional. 
If a woman who wants to work and mentally can not stay at home all day is forced to be At home then that’s not benefiting the kid either. You can’t take cAte of others if you don’t take care of yourself.

All that’s important is that my baby is well taken care of. Since my job is higher paying and provides all three of us with healthcare, my husband will be a stay at home dad once my maternity leave is up. It will be hard to leave my baby boy at home but it will be so much easier knowing his daddy is taking care of him instead of a stranger.

I’ve always wanted to be a stay at home mom!! I do not have a forever career and didn’t go to college very long so I wouldn’t be wasting anything to stay home with my children. My husband has the same dream of me staying home with our children. 
I just think it’s different for everyone! Some people aren’t meant to be stay at home parents and some are. I might feel completely different once I have a baby!￼￼￼

I think this is a very personal and case by case situation. I stay home because it works best for my family. My husband makes enough to cover our expenses and a few extras, and I worked such odd hours, childcare wouldn’t be an option for us. 
Many of my friends work because they can’t afford to not work and some work simply because staying home to raise their kids would hurt their career paths in the future, or because they need to work for their mental health. I’m fortunate enough to have the ability to jump right back into the work force when my kids start school with no issues and make the same amount I was making before I left the work force. It was important to me that our children have their mom available to them 24/7. Some moms can provide that and work, but I couldn’t so staying home very quickly became a no brainer. Again everyone is different, and every situation is different so you’ll just have to evaluate your families needs and make a decision that way. There is no one size fits all

Firstly, you have to have money to pay for your children’s lively hood. Food, bills, shelter, transportation, clothes, necessities, emergency savings, etc. That comes first. I would never put my family in a position to struggle just so I could stay home. However, if my husband made enough money for us to live comfortable and I could stay home with my babies, I’d love to do so. Id have no problem putting my career on the back burner to raise my kids. You can always go back to your career, but your kids are only little once!

I would say if you're able then stay home with babies. However dont put your family in a bad spot financially because you might end up having to go back to work. Really it depends on the person. Staying home with kids is great if you want to and can but you dont have to. There is nothing wrong with working and keeping your career if that's what you want to do. Nothing is wrong with either choice as long as kids are happy and taken care of.
