Doing too much?

My SO is active duty military and over seas. And there is a bit of a time difference (he's 6 hours ahead). We talk often and Sykpe when ever our schedules don't conflict. However sometimes we will go a few days without talk which I hate with a passion. But I still text him good morning and tell him I hope he has a good day even when he hasn't replied to my last text. Am i doing too much? I completely understand the struggles that come with the crazy military life(I'm national guard) so I don't mind and plus I'm really busy with school as well. I just want to make sure I'm not doing the most becuase sometimes I feel like I am when I text and don't get a reply. 😔

When my husband deployed we didn't get to talk every day but I still texted him every morning and night before going to sleep just to let him know I'm thinking of him and I love him whether he answered or not. He did the same even when I couldn't answer. It's not overkill. You love your husband. Deployments are HARD. NO matter how many you've been through. My husband was 8.5 hours ahead of me. It's not easy. Good luck and stay strong!

Oh and on a second note we had a problem where one of our sgts had a rather demanding wife.  She wanted him to call at least 2x a day text throughout etc.  It really pulled him away from the job and almost got someone hurt just don't be like that and you are awesome!

If you guys talk just about everyday I think that a text EVERY morning may be an overkill. How long have you guys been together?

My brother is active duty, SO is a vet... Both of them loved getting as many messages as possible, to them, it let them know that I was still thinking of them and whenever they were finally able to see the message, it was like a little boost cheering them on, even if they couldn't reply...

Some guys are different and it's easier to be apart, but honestly if he hasn't said anything, it's probably okay.

If you're really worried just ask next time your on skype if anything would be easier for him. Just be sure not to make him feel pressured. :]

My hubby (not military tho) is gone for months at a time with his job. I text him to keep in loop of our life back here. Lots of time he doesn't write back. He's busy and I get that.

Those little bits of positivity can really go a long way when they're overseas. It's essentially a small taste of home every time he sees it.

As long as you're not being demanding of his time or manipulative,  don't cause arguments. Stay positive all the time even tho it will be hard. Give him reasons to look forward to coming home, and not dread it.

I am the one in the military I'll be honest my husband does the same for me.  The reason i don't call or text a lot is time and work.  I get busy during the day busting A and by the time bedtime rolls around I'm exhausted and too tired to even think.  The emotional, physical, mental, etc required to get through the day is rough.  And i know when i am gone sometimes (though rare) hearing from home makes it a lil harder.  So i have gone up to 4 days with just a quick I'm good i love you text and that is all.  I also prefer writing (hand written) letter when gone i can carry those with me!

Deployments can be hard. All of them are different especially depends on where they're at. Being there for him through all of this means a lot. It's hard on them. They get busy. They reply when they can. Just keep your head up. You're doing good. Mines been active duty army for 6.5 years now.
