How do you know?

How do you know you are not in love anymore? Together 10 years married 5. I know I love him but there's no romantic type feelings anymore. Like I care and love him enough to not want to leave but I feel so lonely and don't know how to explain it. Am I out of love or just in a funk?

Answer

Love is something that's gross and changes with us in our relationship. More often it's our perspective and expectations of love that don't change. A commitment to an idea of what it is rather than the acceptance that it will change forever. 
Sometimes, it just lulls and you need a lil oumph in it. Not sure that your out of love, it might be that you are just stagnant. I mean when you are saying your excited and waiting for the proposal, then the wedding, then maybe it's a house and a baby. We get excited for these life events and sharing them with our person but what about when life becomes boring and no longer exciting?
 
Just thought a different train of thought could help.
