How to increase milk supply?

I struggled with my milk supply for my 1st baby and now having a 2nd one due in January. Are there any tips on how to have a large supply of breast milk? Like maybe something I should eat before or after I give birth? Thanks in advance!

I had much better luck the second time around. Drank plenty of water and tried to eat healthy. I felt like it was all about supply and demand. The more you empty your breasts the more milk you make. I would try not to skip a pumping session by pumping whenever the baby was due to eat or be there for him to nurse. I also didn’t supplement in the beginning. I was so tired with my first it was easy to give her the bottle of formula...not that there’s anything wrong with using formula. I was just more determined the second time around. I got a drink container that showed oz with a goal to drink 4 L a day. I drank fennel and anise tea, you can buy pre-made mothers milk tea (on Amazon). I ate hot cereals for breakfast, scottish porridge or oatmeal. I like to prep overnight oats when I can and would make my own oat granola bars. Many stores sell lactation treats like cookies and brownies.
Everyone is a little different, ask your Dr what would work best for you.

Healthy foods. I’ve heard good things about oatmeal. Where I am there’s a woman who makes special lactation cookies, could be something to look into where you are. I’ve also read that peppermint can negatively affect your supply so try not to eat stuff flavoured with it or use peppermint oil in your house too much.
