Birthing risks

I'm re-writing the post, as it's not clear if I'm whining or whatever lol.

In the UK, I'm not sure if it's the same everywhere? Pretend it is for a minute.

Women here aren't provided with risks of birthing, unless they opt for an elective c-section. In which case they're given a 'birthing options clinic', where they'll receive statistic information for associated risks.

Do you think women should be told from the outset the risks of birthing irrespective of their mode of delivery? So say you're having a vaginal delivery, should you be given information about associated risks of a vaginal delivery?
