Bean Medley recipes?

Question

My boyfriend has asked me to make beans for dinner one night so I picked up a can of bean medley. But I have never made anything with beans before. 
What are some recipes for beans? Preferably something I can put beef into?  Also how do you cook the beans? Do you just boil them in a pot??

When we make beans we make pinto beans with salt pork or bacon in the crock pot and they’re so yummy. As for the bean medley the first things that come to mind would be using them in a soup or in some sort of grain like quinoa or rice and cooking meat as the main entree.

Chop up some bacon and start it cooking on the bottom of a soup pot. Chop up an onion and throw it in. Wait 3-4 minutes then pour in a carton of chicken broth, add the beans, desired seasoning, and bring to boil and cook until the beans are soft. I like to season with bay leaf, cumin, and garlic.
This works for canned or dry beans, you just have to cook the dry beans a lot longer.
You can choose to drain the liquid from the can they come in or not. Draining it and rinsing the beans helps them be less gassy. 
Now if it’s canned and you’re feeling lazy you can always just microwave them and smother in cheese. Canned beans are mostly cooked already.
