Moving with a newborn?

We just had our offer accepted on a house! We’re so excited but also nervous about moving with a 4 month old, even though it’s just across town. Has anyone done it and do you have any tips?

My water broke the day we got the keys to our new house so the first week was insane. If you have family in town, that’s what helped me the most ... they helped so much with cleaning and organizing things for me. If you’re wanting to do all that, even them watching the baby would help. I had a priority list of rooms that needed to be “done” first. I’d try and set up the room that your baby sleeps in first - try and get it to feel familiar to them and hopefully that’ll ease the transition.

Yes! It was hectic but we made the best of it. We moved to a different province when I was 34 weeks preggers, had a cesarean and on the way home from the Hospital stopped at the lawyers to sign the papers then mover arrived 4 days later with our items.

I'm a single mum and I moved with a 5 year old and a 6 week old. Also just across town but a move is a move. It'll likely be stressful but it'll be over soon and you'll be in your new home. I did tasks in small frequent doses. Still have some boxes to unpack. Rope anyone possible in to helping. In moments of chaos imagine yourself in a tranquil scene in your new home. Good luck 😀

I moved with a 7 week old baby. I would suggest having someone there that is able to care for baby the entire time. I went ahead of the movers and cleaned before we moved anything into the house. It wasn't too bad

We bought a house when my LO was 2 mo. It would of never worked for us if my family didn’t come down to help. Someone had to watch my son at all times because he was super clingy this week. I also had to stop every 1.5 hours to nurse. It was hard, and took a lot longer, but it was doable! You got this!

We’re starting the move today. We closed on the house yesterday!!!
It’s just across town and basically our plan is hubby’s best friend will help him with all the moving while I take care of baby. Then I’ll go through things in the garage and delegate where to put things. I plan on having her in a carrier on my chest during this.

We moved when our guy was 1 week old. It was hectic! Just know you can’t do it alone. You need to ask for help!! And if you don’t have help, make sure you take breaks. I regret it every day because I was so determined to get my house packed and unpacked that I missed out on some sweet snuggles.

We moved when my first was about 4 months and it’s a little hectic but definitely do-able! 
Ask for help! We had friends come over to entertain baby while we unpacked and got things in order. Pack things you’ll need right away in your car instead of a moving truck so they are easily accessible. LABEL EVERYTHING lol and congrats on your new home!
