“Are you sure?!”

Quick vent because non pregnant people would probably laugh at me for being annoyed about this. A nurse at work was like I heard you were about 6 months pregnant. She looks at my belly (it’s not that big) and says “are you sure?!” So I’m like, yeah I am sure, I am 26 weeks along. She then proceeds to tell me that I am actually only 5 months pregnant which then confuses the heck out of me. Like hun? So she is sitting there doing the calculations and I’m like at my last doc appointment my doctor said I was 6 months and that was two weeks ago. Now I’m not even sure how many months 26 weeks are since every chart is different, not that it matters. Either way this whole. I convo annoyed me 😂😂😂 that’s all, vent over.

I think most of the confusion is because you are “in” your 6th month at 23 weeks (you’re really just starting your 6th month). By the end of week 26, you’re at the end of the 6th month. Think of it like Sept 1st was week 23. Yes, you’re in the month of Sept, but you wouldn’t really say that Sept was over. Now that we’re ending Sept, it’s like ending you’re 6th month (week 26 or so). Now you’re entering your 7th month, but have been pregnant for a full 6 months. I hope that makes sense. Preggo brain is so real right now 😂
I’m at the end of my 6th month and not really even showing so I get the “are you sure” A LOT!

Timing truly confuses me but as long as your doctor says something that’s what you should stick with - this is the one that I saw on here that I’ve been following. It’s just confusing based on the start dates.

That’s so frustrating. When people try to question you about your pregnancy....like “are you sure...you’re having a boy/girl, you look like you are having..blah” “are you sure you’re only such and such far along, you look big/small” people always tel me I look big and I must be “having a big baby” it’s so frustrating and I find it rude. Lol. I get your rant, and now my rant is over too 😂

I always tell people the complete month. I don’t think it makes any sense to tell people the month you’re “in”. Like how do you tell people how old you are? 
Actually I prefer to tell people in weeks and if they don’t understand I’m like “it’s like 5/6 months” and that’s the end of the conversation. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Isn’t it went you finish a month that’s when you are it? Lol like, I’m 24+2 weeks, which makes me 5 1/2 months. And I’ll be six months at the end of 27 weeks, beginning of 28. Right? Lol I don’t know

I just count the months by the date. 😅 I’m due Jan 12th, so Oct 12th I’m 6 months. So at 24.5 weeks today, I’m 5 and a half months. 😅

You are starting month 6. Mathematically the average days in each month has 30.42 days and being 26 weeks makes you 5.98 months. If you pull out a calendar and count 1 less day or the same day of the following month you also get 6 months.

I hate that. We live over an hour from the hospitals I can deliver at so we took the opportunity to tour one when we had time running errands in the city one day. I think I was around 12 weeks. Also just being proactive about choosing a hospital. We get there and the nurse giving the tour looks at me and goes “... you don’t look pregnant... you don’t have a bump...” and I’m like “well yeah, I’m only 12 weeks.” UGH I was so annoyed. I don’t think we’ll be going to that one. Most of the nurses there were so immature about everything and that made me and my husband so uncomfortable 😂. Especially the fact that the nurse giving the tour was way too excited to tell us about complications in birth 🙃
