ER Scare Last Night
I'm 25 Weeks and 3 Days today with baby #2.
Yesterday, I wasn't feeling all that great, but brushed it off as just normal pregnancy blahs. Around 330PM I had gone to the store with my mom and my daughter. As we were leaving I started having Braxton Hicks. Went home and laid in bed the rest of the evening. Around 630PM I started feeling worse and had pressure in my chest and my abdomen started hurting. Went to the walk in around the corner from my house. While I was there I started having irregular contractions. They sent me over the the ER, my husband drove me over. From about 730PM to about 1030PM my contractions were irregular, didn't register on the monitor, and couldn't be felt on the outside when having my stomach examined. They were contractions though and had us all worried.
Had an EKG and they said it was abnormal. Was monitored in L&D for about 3 hrs. Cervix didn't change, I wasn't dilated and everything was all clear. They said I have a grade 2 heart murmur (I think is what they called it) and I had to go down to the ER to get cleared for my heart. We were so relieved that my contractions had stopped and that she was staying put.
After getting bloodwork drawn twice, an IV put in for a test and hours of waiting.
X-ray and ultrasound showed signs of clots, ct scan showed that I was all clear. We finally got home around 530AM with no answers. I wasn't allowed to eat at all the whole time I was in the ER, so I was more miserable than just my pains and discomforts.
I still don't feel good in my chest, but they couldn't find any answers. It was a miserable time (I've never had a bad experience at our hospital and even L&D were mad at the ER department. My L&D nurse was ready to fight them to get me to be seen and in a room). Resting for the day and making a follow-up appointment with my Dr. Just glad our baby girl is safe and staying put!
