Relationship rant

Me and my SO have mentioned having kids but he doesn’t seem to happy about the idea. He says he’ll do it to make me happy, but that just makes me feel bad. I don’t want to force a kid in his life but I want one badly. I actually had a conversation with my mother who had asked when I’d be having a child and I told her I want a son, but I guess time isn’t ever right. She said that I should look into getting a sperm donor and honestly that was shocking to hear. I mean I love my SO. Would it be messed up if I did get a sperm donor? I would not expect him to take care of the child at all if I were to get a donor. I would not make him do anything for the child since it wouldn’t be his. It’s just I know he doesn’t ever want kids, and it would be perfect since he wouldn’t have to be responsible for the baby.
